As our new R&D Director, Head of Product Development, Domestic Cold Water (DCW), you will be heading a team of approximately 50 engineers, developers, and agile practitioners, setting the strategic and technical direction for our domestic cold water product portfolio while championing agile ways of working across the organization. What you will be doing
As a key part of our Domestic Building Service Product Development organization, you'll create impact by leading a high-performing engineering team to deliver best-in-class cold water products that bring clean, reliable water solutions to homes worldwide.
Moreover, you will become part of our Product Development Leadership team and the Divisional Extended Leadership team, through which you will have an impact on how we develop the full end-to-end organization.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Set strategic direction and provide technical accountability for the domestic cold water product portfolio, ensuring competitiveness and profitability
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~50 engineers, developers, technicians, technical product owners, and scrum masters
- Drive a high-performing cultural transformation within your team and collaborate with fellow product development heads to scale agile practices across the organization
- Manage budgets for all cold-water product development activities, balancing risk and reward in a dynamic environment
- Collaborating with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders to deploy strategies within the value stream
- Shape the broader organization as an active member of the Product Development Leadership team and the Divisional Extended Leadership team
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a seasoned R&D leader with a talent for developing people, a strong grasp of agile product development, and the sound judgement to navigate organizational change while keeping technical excellence at the forefront. We would also imagine that you have:
- Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of engineers in cross-functional multi-cultural product development environments
- Hands-on experience with agile development methodologies and change management
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
It is a plus if you also possess:
- Experience working in an international, matrixed organization
- Budget management experience for product development activities
- Collaborative leadership style with a track record of working effectively across multiple leadership teams
You'll also be available for travelling up to 40 days per year.
