What is the job about?
As a Welder II, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on castings and fabricated components, ensuring all welds meet established standards across any qualified welding process.
This position reports directly to the APU Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, Texas facility.
Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.
Your main responsibilities:
- Use the following equipment: Mig, Tig, arc welder, and oxy oxygen and acetylene.
- Produce acceptable welds in all positions following the company’s WPS.
- Select proper procedures, fillers, and equipment for various types of welding.
- Notify the supervisor of known or suspected problems with equipment, drawings, or parts.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Exercise their freedom and ability to identify areas for improvement and to initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to EHS related issues.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Use materials efficiently to minimize waste.
- Perform other duties and necessary.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- High School diploma or GED and appropriate training.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or 12-18 months related experience and/or equivalent combination of both.
- Knowledge of tick and wire-feed welding machines.
- Experience operating small power tools.
- Capable of both written and verbal communications in English.
- The ability to operate daily out of the Brookshire, Texas facility.
