Purchasing Supervisor
Job Description

We are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor responsible for coordinating daily procurement activities and managing material flows throughout the supply chain. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, on‑time deliveries, process efficiency, and effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is an organized professional with strong analytical skills, proven leadership abilities, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

 

Purchasing Operations Supervision

• Manage daily procurement, inventory, warehouse, and logistics activities, ensuring operational efficiency and contributing to cost‑reduction initiatives.

 

Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels, oversee replenishment, and prevent excess or obsolete inventory, ensuring proper material availability.

 

Supplier and Vendor Coordination

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, evaluate their performance, and ensure compliance with delivery timelines.

 

Logistics and Distribution Support

• Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules, supporting the operational needs of production and commercial teams.

 

Team Leadership and Development

• Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to supply chain staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

 

Process Improvement

• Identify internal inefficiencies and implement continuous‑improvement and cost‑optimization initiatives.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Analyze key supply chain metrics and prepare reports to support management decision‑making.

 

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures across all supply chain activities.

 

Demand Planning Support

• Collaborate with sales and production teams to align procurement plans with demand forecasts.

 

ERP and Digital Systems Utilization

• Use ERP systems and dedicated software to track activities, monitor processes, and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date data. (SAP is a plus)

Organizational Structure

 

• This role reports directly to the Head of WT Purchasing, based in Denmark, and collaborates with suppliers, logistics teams, production, and commercial departments.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or inventory management
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team‑coordination experience
• Professional‑level proficiency in English
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with supply chain software and planning tools
• Strong understanding of logistics, procurement, and inventory management principles
