As our new Group Lead Key Account Manager in Japan, you will be leading and growing our key account relationships with top-tier Machine Tool customers in Japan and across the region, pairing commercial expertise with technical know-how to position Grundfos as the preferred pump solution partner throughout our customers' specification and roadmapping activities. What you will be doing

As a key part of the Global Key Account Management – Machine Tool team, you'll create impact by Driving strategic customer engagement and commercial growth that ensures Grundfos remains the leading and preferred supplier in the global Machine Tool marketplace..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Own overall sales responsibility for assigned Key Accounts with defined commercial targets, serving as the customer's #1 headquarters representative for Grundfos and managing regional and global frame agreements across legal, commercial, quality, and delivery dimensions
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans including pricing, terms & conditions, customer profitability analysis, and global/local alignment — while building and expanding relationships with senior decision-makers across technical, procurement, and plant management functions
  • Drive the sales pipeline end-to-end: from relationship-building activities through lead generation, opportunity management, structured offer tracking, and proactive follow-up to closed sales orders
  • Partner closely with Technical Key Account Managers (TKAMs) to frame customer problem statements and requirements specifications, ensuring Grundfos delivers the most competitive and value-adding pump solutions for Machine Tool applications
  • Build Grundfos brand awareness in the Machine Tool sector by establishing and expanding industry networks, attending trade fairs, participating in associations and committees, and serving as the primary face of Grundfos at customer trainings and exhibitions
  • Contribute to internal capability development by providing market and customer insights for roadmapping, creating content for marketing materials, onboarding local sales teams, and identifying end-to-end capability gaps that hinder the success of new offerings

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a strategic and commercially sharp key account leader with an engineering foundation, proven experience managing multinational customer relationships, and the ability to connect customer roadmaps with compelling Grundfos value propositions in a complex, global stakeholder landscape.

We would also imagine that you have:

    • Strong commercial understanding and experience from customer-facing roles, especially key account management of multinational companies
    • A degree in engineering, ideally in the fields of mechanical, electrical, process, or industrial engineering
    • Strategic thinking in terms of linking end-users' strategic agenda with specific opportunities for Grundfos
    • Experience in project sales model covering financial, legal, and compliance elements while navigating a complex stakeholder landscape
    • Application and product technical knowledge/experience from the industry is a plus
    • Existing network in the sector is a plus
    • Experience in automation and communication (IOT)
    • Strong presentation and communication skills
    • High willingness to travel
    • Good IT skills (MS Office, Outlook, CRM, and BW)
    • Fluent in English and Japanese. Some level of Mandarin would be an asset 
              

It is a plus if you also:

  • Japanese language fluency; some level of Mandarin would be an additional asset
  • Application and product technical knowledge from the Machine Tool industry, including experience with automation and IoT communication
  • An existing network in the Machine Tool sector
