Engineering
Technical Linguist/Terminologist
Job Description

Senior Technical Editor

At Grundfos, we are passionate about solving the worlds water and climate challenges and improving people’s quality of life. As a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technology, we consistently set the standard in terms of innovation, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Our commitment to making a positive impact drives everything we do, from our cutting-edge products to our dynamic workplace environment

What is the job about?

Are you the kind of person who spots a typo from across the room? Do you dream in XML and wake up thinking about DITA? If you’re passionate about making technical content clear, consistent, and user-friendly, we want you on our team!

As a Senior Technical Editor at Grundfos, you’ll be the linguistic wizard behind our technical documentation.

You’ll help shape how we communicate with the world—ensuring our content is not only accurate but also accessible, inclusive, and downright delightful to read.

This role will be on a 2 year contract and can be based in Budapest or Székesfehérvár.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Optimize language quality in technical documentation (because “readable” is the new “revolutionary”).
  • Develop and maintain style guides and writing guidelines for different audiences.
  • Manage technical terminology like a boss.
  • Identify opportunities for single sourcing (DITA fans, this is your moment!).
  • Collaborate with editors, engineers, proofreaders, and translation agencies.
  • Represent the voice of the end user—because they matter most.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing communities (yes, we’re nerdy and proud).

Your background:

  • A degree in English, technical communication, or a related field (bonus points for a master’s!).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role i.e. in technical writing, technical communication etc.
  • Familiarity with translation software and terminology management tools.
  • A love for details, standards, and structured content.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, and web tech.
  • Good understanding of topic-based authoring, XML, DITA, content delivery, language quality, terminology, and localization processes
  • Experience with tools like Oxygen XML Editor or Adobe Experience Manager (Or other CCMS).
  • A knack for topic-based authoring and content delivery processes.
  • Fluency in English (both written and oral)

What’s in it for you?

Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path. You’ll be welcomed from day one into an inclusive, trusting environment guided by our six core values.

In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:

If you’ll be working from your home office, we’ll make sure you are well equipped with a good workstation. However, you are always welcome to our offices where you can engage, learn, and have fun with colleagues

On top of it, flexible working hours and up to 3 days’ additional paid leave for volunteering of your choice Annual bonuses, health insurance, parental support, internal well-being consultants and programs, access to the modern Grundfos Academy to pursue further both personal and professional development

Diverse, inclusive environment with employee-led forums offering colleagues a safe place to connect and share openly
