Grundfos is seeking a Service Technician. The Service Technician has the responsibility of delivering service products to customers. The goal is to maintain excellent service delivery by partnering with Service Sales Engineers in growing the Service business while working to strengthen the Grundfos brand position by exceeding market expectations. This position reports directly to the Head of Service & Solutions and will operate daily out of the Tacoma, WA facility. 

 

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa.

 

 

Your main responsibilities: 

 

  • Diagnoses, repairs, reconditions and adjusts pumps and pump related equipment as required.
  • Provide service-related technical support, technical advise and technical training to customers in the field and workshops for existing products and their applications.
  • Deliver service sales leads to the Service Sales Engineers.
  • Analyzes details in the databases to report on warranty and out of warranty product returns.
  • Audit ASP.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Tests, diagnoses, repairs, or replaces defective parts on pumps and pump components.
  • Creates repair estimates and submits information to substantiate quotes and estimates.
  • Prepare service reports and ensure that they are detailed with enough detail for service accounting needs.
  • Travel to equipment needing repairs as instructed.

 

 

 

Your background: 

 

 

We imagine that you have: 

 

  • The ideal candidate has a technical certificate, trade school, or equivalent in a technically related field is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the service industry or comparable environment.
  • Previous working experience with pump or rotating equipment is highly preferred.
  • A self-starter mindset with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision and can manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Strong customer service skills with an ability to interact effectively with customers, business associates, salesmen and engineers.
  • Ability to understand mechanical/electrical systems is a plus.
  • Previous experience with SAP is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of best practices and systems within the service environment.
  • The ability to travel to customer sties as needed.

 

 

The starting pay for this position is $30.00/hour.  Actual pay will depend on skill set, experience, and location. Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Tacoma, WA.
