Senior Category Buyer – Direct

As a Senior Category Buyer – Direct, you’ll play a key role in driving value-based sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and contributing to innovation and sustainability across our global supply chain.
This is a new role, where you will work as a pivotal member of a much larger project related to supplier resilience.
This role can be based in Székesfehervár or Tatabanya, Hungary and will report to the Purchasing Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Support and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with the Category Manager.
- Lead tendering processes including eRFIs, RFQs, and e-auctions.
- Prepare data and fact packs for supplier negotiations and contract implementation.
- Monitor supplier performance and support improvement initiatives.
- Participate in developing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies.
- Ensure accurate vendor master data and purchasing conditions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Product Development.
Your background:
- Relevant commercial or technical education (apprenticeship, associate degree, or equivalent).
- 3+ years of experience in a similar purchasing or sourcing role.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, systems, and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global matrix environment
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
- Strong relationship builder and team player.
- Skilled in following procedures and delivering results.
- Comfortable working with data, contracts, and supplier performance metrics
- Driving license
