Senior Category Buyer – Direct

As a Senior Category Buyer – Direct, you’ll play a key role in driving value-based sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and contributing to innovation and sustainability across our global supply chain.

This is a new role, where you will work as a pivotal member of a much larger project related to supplier resilience.

 

This role can be based in Székesfehervár or Tatabanya, Hungary and will report to the Purchasing Manager.

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Support and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with the Category Manager.
  • Lead tendering processes including eRFIs, RFQs, and e-auctions.
  • Prepare data and fact packs for supplier negotiations and contract implementation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in developing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies.
  • Ensure accurate vendor master data and purchasing conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Product Development.

 

 

Your background:

  • Relevant commercial or technical education (apprenticeship, associate degree, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar purchasing or sourcing role.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, systems, and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global matrix environment
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong relationship builder and team player.
  • Skilled in following procedures and delivering results.
  • Comfortable working with data, contracts, and supplier performance metrics
  • Driving license
