Engineering
Product Development Engineer
Job Description

Are you a hands-on mechanical engineer who thrives on turning complexity into real, working solutions — from CAD model to lab floor?
Join us in shaping next-generation pump technologies, where engineering decisions directly impact product performance, manufacturability, and global customer value.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Product Development Engineering team, you'll create impact by Ensuring product integrity and continuity by managing the full technical scope of supplier changes — from specification to testing — across a global value chain..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and update drawings and model specifications driven by supplier changes, following Grundfos internal processes and standards
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including application engineers, lead engineers, and Technical Product Owners to align on technical requirements
  • Visit the laboratory and production floor to observe, discuss, and coordinate testing activities with lab personnel
  • Manage your own task backlog — estimating timelines, tracking progress, and proactively communicating delays with proper documentation
  • Negotiate and advocate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate task prioritization
  • Contribute to development projects including modeling from scratch and preparing technical specifications

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a proactive, systems-oriented mechanical engineer with strong coordination skills, SAP/ERP proficiency, and the confidence to work independently in a hybrid, multicultural environment. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering (Master's preferred) with 5–7 years of relevant product development experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems in a global context (not limited to local file management)
  • Upper-intermediate or higher English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage tasks, drive deliverables, and influence stakeholders

It is a plus if you also:

  • CAD modeling and simulation experience, preferably with CATIA, including ability to model from scratch
  • Project experience — having participated in or led engineering development projects
  • Affinity for laboratory and production environments, with willingness to engage directly on the shop floor

Why you will love working here

We care! Day to day, you can look forward to:

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering in your community.
  • Access to on-demand training and learning sessions and carefully structured programmes to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.

We are inclusive! Celebrating and valuing our differences helps us see possibilities where others can't. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds.
