Sr. Advance Supplier Quality Engineer

What is the Job about

Sr. Advance Supplier Quality Engineer in the Grundfos Group, Supplier Quality Management Function. Carries through activities and improvements in relation with products, where supplier involvement is needed. Acts as a link between the supplier, project management, SQM organization and plants during the component approval process. Manage all related activities which are needed for a timely and successful approval.

His/her full responsibility starts when the demand of a VPC arises and ends with the successfully approved component VPC. E2E responsibility

 

Your main responsibilities

  • Supplier Contact
  • Assess the supplier readiness for VPC
  • Ensure the supplier understanding the project scope (drawings, VPC requirements, other Grundfos requirements)
  • In case of knowledge gap, make the necessary actions, including trainings
  • Consult with CM in case of commercial questions
  • Consult with the Suppliers, be part of the drawing refining – acting as SQD

 

  • Project management contact
  • Ensure the smooth information flow between the interested parties
  • Primer contact between project management and Plant, SQM organisation
  • Lead the Project, VPC and kick-off meetings
  • Ensure the VPC approvals according to the best possible timing, without any compromising on Quality, consider all factors from Grundfos point of view

 

  • PD contact
  • Assess the drawing and technical requirements, in questions escalate to design team
  • Consult and involve the related SQDs if necessary

 

  • SCM contact
  • Ensure the delivery dates / quantity from suppliers to match the VPC needs
  • Manage to realize the agreed deadlines

 

  • Plant contact
  • Main contributor in VPC process, evaluate the results based on inputs, act as final decision maker - acting as SQE
  • Consult and involve the related SQEs if necessary
  • Propose IQC set-up for the upcoming deliveries
  • Track the related VPC stock items, make sure no left over at the project ends.

 

  • Miscellaneous
  • Support for other different projects
  • Any other tasks which ordered by the direct superior

Mandate – what this function can make decisions on e.g.: 

  • Decide about the need of a 0-meeting
  • Define the stakeholders to involve into a VPC
  • Pause the progress and call for extra alignment meeting(s) if contradiction is observed
  • Approve/Reject SPA(PPAP) documentation
  • Final decision on the VPC outcome

Your background

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar, preferably mechanical.
  • 5+ years professional engineering experience
  • Proven business acumen, is advantage
  • Proven experience working in cross functional teams preferable in operation
  • Proven experience from working in an international company
  • Proven experience with change management
  • Fluent English verbal and written
  • Able to dive into details but keep the overview same time
  • Good communicator / negotiator, assertive
  • Understand the business, able to prioritize
  • Analytical thinking
  • Strong and deep technical knowledge (reading the drawings, GPS, CAD models)
  • Experienced in quality tools (capability, FMEA, CP, MSA, etc.)
  • Good in SAP, Q-stat, office applications
  • Precise, keep deadlines
  • Autonomously deliver results
  • Must be willing to travel when required.
