Are you a hands-on technical expert who thrives on solving complex pump and system challenges in the field while building lasting customer relationships? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.
As our new Service Specialist, you will be delivering expert field service solutions across British Columbia — troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing industrial pump systems while coaching Authorized Service Partners to uphold Grundfos standards of excellence.
You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
In this role, you can be based anywhere in the Metro Vancouver area.
What you will be doing
As a key part of the Service team, you'll create impact by providing technical expertise that keeps critical water infrastructure running reliably while identifying opportunities to help customers optimize performance and reduce energy consumption.
Your main responsibilities are to:
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and recommission pumps, pump systems, and accessories at customer sites throughout British Columbia with a focus on the Metro Vancouver area.
- Act as the Authorized Service Partner Consultant for BC — supporting, coaching, auditing, and developing partners to ensure compliance with Grundfos service standards and safety requirements.
- Perform advanced services including pump audits, commissioning, vibration analysis, laser alignment, condition monitoring, and energy/booster checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot VFDs, controls, sensors, communication systems, and mechanical/hydraulic failures using root cause analysis techniques.
- Review system performance data, verify equipment against design specs, and recommend optimization opportunities to customers.
- Prepare quotes for out-of-warranty repairs, identify sales leads, support service agreement renewals, and deliver customer training on equipment operation and maintenance
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a skilled field service professional with deep knowledge of industrial pumps, rotating equipment, and control systems, combined with strong customer-facing communication skills and a commitment to safety excellence. We would also imagine that you have:
- A technical diploma in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of field service experience with industrial pumps, rotating equipment, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system domains, including ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Valid driver's license and passport with ability to travel frequently throughout British Columbia and occasionally within Canada and the United States.
It is a plus if you also have:
- Red Seal Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Industrial Electrician, or equivalent trade certification.
- Experience with vibration analysis, predictive maintenance methodologies, and pump performance/reliability analysis.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
