In the Industry Division we deliver products and solutions designed for Industrial customers. We are innovating core products and tailored solutions for various industrial applications such as digital solutions, pumps, drives, motors, and controls.  

As a Senior UX UI Designer in the Industry division, you will be focused on researching, exploring, and defining the digital solutions, products and interactions between our industrial applications and their users.  

 

The Industry division in Grundfos is a specific segment within the company that caters to industrial customers. It focuses on providing tailored solutions for various industrial applications, such as pumps, drives, frequency converters, motors, valves, and controls. This division serves industries like manufacturing and water treatment by addressing their specific needs and challenges.  

As a Senior UX UI Designer in the Industry division, you will be focused on researching, exploring, and defining the digital solutions and interactions between our industrial applications and their users. 

 

 

What is the job about?  

 

As a Senior UX/UI Designer in Grundfos' Industry division, your focus will be on creating and designing the user experience of our digital products. Your role will involve shaping how our users interact with, understand, and configure their machines within the Grundfos digital ecosystem. Being part of our design team means being at the forefront of the design process. This requires flexibility, as we need to adapt to changing requirements and effectively communicate our design approach and its importance to the business, especially during the ideation phase of new products. One of our primary responsibilities is to advocate for the users and ensure that every aspect of our product design enhances their overall experience. This includes making our products more intuitive, user-friendly, and enabling users to easily discover and navigate the various Grundfos technologies. Additionally, we aim to simplify complex processes and information, making it easier for users to comprehend and leverage the full potential of our offerings. 

 

 

Your main responsibilities:  

 

  • In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating connected product features for the future by conducting user research, gathering insights, and translating them into actionable design solutions and best design practices. 
  • Sketch solutions, build rapid prototypes, test ideas, and quickly iterate, based on user data and insights.  
  • Be curious, empathetic, and proactive to deliver innovative digital experiences (such as apps, web platforms) using the latest technologies and tools within our digital ecosystem. 
  • Contribute to the evolution and reimagination of our existing digital solutions for our industry customers. This involves identifying opportunities to address user pain points and problems and proposing well-designed connected features. 
  • Collaborate to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including UI designers, developers, product owners, and project managers to ensure that the UI design direction aligns with the proposed connected product experience.  
  • While prior knowledge of industrial pumps is not required, we expect you to be excited and enthusiastic about learning about pumps, drives, frequency converters, valves, skids, boosting, setpoints, cascade control, and other domain concepts and technologies. 
  • Understand tech limitations and development constraints, enabling you to navigate between pushing boundaries and adapting solutions to be more pragmatic and deliverable.  

 

Your background 

 

As a person we imagine that you describe yourself as curious, pragmatic, and friendly, also we expected that you have: 

 

  • Demonstrated expertise in user experience and user interface design, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to create intuitive and visually appealing digital experiences, preferable connected to some sort of physical product. 
  • Experience working in up-to-date tools such as Figma, Sketch, Framer, Adobe CC or Flinto. 
  • Are excited about immersing yourself in new topics, able to work with a lot of information to connect the dots and form hypotheses. 
  • Can prioritize time between multiple projects and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects. 
  • Have skills in user research, journey mapping, user flows, wireframing, rapid prototyping and visual design. 
  • Are proactive, outspoken, and able to think beyond what exists today and push the boundaries of our products/app and web experiences, to explore new solutions for tomorrow. 
  • Worked with the business to validate and test value propositions of the digital offerings.
