Senior Product Development Engineer
Job Description

As our new Senior Product Development Engineer, you will become part of a key strategic project focused on renewing and modernizing our product platforms.You will contribute to the design and development of next-generation pump solutions, from early concept through to production-ready products, working in a collaborative and international R&D environment.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Product Development, Research & Development team, you'll create impact by Developing breakthrough product designs that advance Grundfos's mission to pioneer sustainable water and climate solutions worldwide.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and development of new products and product improvements through all development phases, from concept to market launch
  • Conduct engineering analyses including FEA, CFD, and tolerance studies to validate and optimize product performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability and cost targets
  • Define and execute test plans to verify product reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives on existing product platforms to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices within the R&D organization

 

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a technically strong and hands-on engineer with deep experience in mechanical product development, a structured approach to problem-solving, and a genuine drive to create products that matter. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Core domain for journal/sleeve bearings (design and application)
  • 7+ years of experience in product development engineering, preferably in rotating equipment, pumps, or similar industrial products
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and engineering simulation tools (FEA/CFD)
  • Proven track record of leading products from concept through to production launch

 

It is a plus if you also:

  • Experience with hydraulic design or fluid dynamics applications
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and stage-gate development processes
  • Knowledge of motor technology, electronics integration, or IoT-enabled product development
