Senior Category Manager
Job Description

Do you want to establish close relationships within the global Grundfos organization and gain a broad network where you have touchpoints that go beyond Purchasing and your own categories? 

Then join the Group Purchasing team as a Senior Category Manager responsible for Stainless Steel Stamped and Welded materials.

 

What is the job about? 

As Senior Category Manager you will be responsible to deliver consistently high customer satisfaction on behalf of Group Purchasing and the Business Divisions in Grundfos. You conduct Value Based Sourcing within the categories assigned to you and lead the continuous improvement of the Operational Excellence, Innovation and Sustainability delivered from our Suppliers. You ensure optimization of your area of responsibility from a total cost of ownership perspective based on the category strategy developed by you supported by the category team. Moreover, you will:

 

Strategic sourcing related activities: 

  • Be responsible to develop and implement Category Strategy and oversee and optimize Supplier portfolio accordingly. 
  • Gain and establish in-depth market knowledge. 
  • Be responsible for supplier selection and approval and negotiation of the overall purchase conditions. 
  • Be responsible for the tendering process (eRFI & RFQs and e-auctions) 
  • Be responsible for cost out activities. 

 

Supplier Relationship Management related activities:

  • Be responsible for regular follow-up on the supplier performance and oversee suppliers' capacities
  • Drive, arrange and participate in system audits, CSR audits, etc
  • Ensure the classification of suppliers and create SRM strategies based on this 
  • Support capacity and supply chain improvement initiatives in cooperation with suppliers and local units
  • Supports Product Development and parts approval
  • Establish and maintain a team of cross-functional key stakeholders 

 

 

Your main collaboration partners are Purchasing Management Region / Performance Units, Operations / Plants, Supply Chain, Quality, Group Purchasing, Product and Offerings Development, Engineering, Finance, Operations Strategy, Legal and Product and Program Managers.

 

Your background: 

We imagine that you: 

• Have a relevant technical education or solid experience in leading technical advanced categories.

• Have at least 5 years of relevant experience within sourcing in a global Organization. 

• Have experience in communication at senior executive level as well as other levels internally and externally. 

• Are fluent in English and used to work in global organizations, across geographical and cultural differences. 

 

You possess a natural aptitude for critical and strategic reasoning, ensuring you trust in your own capabilities to deliver results and make decisions. Your ability to collaborate effectively with your peers is noteworthy. Your profile will be described as somewhat of an entrepreneur, and you know how to ‘think and act Commercial’. 

 

Expected travel days is approximately 20 days per year.
