Job Description

Are you a seasoned sales professional with expertise in pumps and water systems, ready to drive growth across Industry and Water Utility markets? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

Founded in 1923, Peerless Pump Company (a Grundfos subsidiary) is a US-based manufacturer of horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps for fire, industrial, and municipal applications. With pump installations in 145 countries, Peerless is globally recognized for engineering tough, reliable, and versatile pump solutions with extensive flow and pressure capabilities. From our production facilities in Indianapolis and Houston to our service centers in Lubbock and Fresno, Peerless pumps are designed to protect people and property from fire and to bring water where it’s needed most. Our product quality is second to none, but it’s our people who’ve made us Peerless for over 100 years. Our legacy of innovation is fueled by attracting, training, and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds. With competitive benefits and a strong emphasis on development, growth, and innovation, Peerless employees come seeking a job but stay to build a career.

As our new District Sales Manager, you will be managing and developing Peerless Pump sales through business partners and direct channels across the Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho), formulating winning sales strategies, building strong distributor and contractor relationships, and driving revenue to meet or exceed established targets.

You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

You can be based anywhere in Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho and will work remotely.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Peerless Pumps Sales team, you'll create impact by leading regional sales efforts that expand Peerless Pump's market presence and deliver critical pumping solutions to industry and water utility customers across the U.S.

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Formulate and implement regional sales strategies, calling on contractors and end users to solicit business both directly and through business partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions while reviewing project specifications and drawings to ensure alignment with Peerless Pump product offerings.
  • Conduct business partner audits, provide regular performance feedback, and deliver product and business tool training to strengthen channel capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver compelling product presentations to audiences of all sizes, and present key opportunities to U.S. Sales Leaders for final resolution.
  • Provide accurate sales reports and business planning documents to management on a regular basis.

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a results-driven sales professional with 5+ years of experience in pump markets, strong technical acumen to read and interpret project specifications, and the communication and leadership skills to inspire business partners and win new business. We would also imagine that you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field with 5-10 years of experience in pump sales or a closely related industry.
  • Strong understanding of pumps, their markets, and applications across Industry and Water Utility segments.
  • Professional sales skills including key account strategy development, pricing negotiation, and business partner management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and e-business tools.

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Experience managing distributor and dealer networks across multiple territories.
  • Familiarity with reading and commenting on project specifications and engineering drawings for pump systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory including overnight (50%).

We care! Day to day, you can look forward to:

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering in your community.
  • Access to on-demand training and learning sessions and carefully structured programmes to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.
