Junior Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description

As our new Junior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be supporting the Grundfos Operations site in San Luis Potosí by managing external supplier quality claims, guaranteeing containment, and serving as the key liaison between Grundfos and its suppliers to drive continuous quality improvements.

 

This position reports to the Supplier Quality Manager and operates fully onsite from our facility in San Luis Potosí, México.

 

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Supplier Quality Management team, you'll create impact by strengthening supplier quality processes that directly secure the reliability and performance of Grundfos products, reaching customers worldwide.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Process, issue, and maintain external supplier quality claims daily, acting as the primary point of contact between Grundfos and its suppliers.
  • Manage inspection, verification, and lab measurements on supplied components, coordinating with Quality Engineers on specification-based testing.
  • Communicate Quality findings to suppliers and the SQM group after receiving 5W2H reports from stakeholders.
  • Drive and manage containment activities agreed with suppliers.
  • Analyze quality records, document recurring issues, and prepare reports.
  • Manage the escalation process for quality issues, raising potential red alerts to management as needed.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers to develop audit plans based on historical results and future expectations.

 

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a detail-oriented professional with strong technical aptitude, good communication skills in English, and a proactive mindset for coordinating across internal teams and external suppliers.

 

We would also imagine that you have:

  • A recent Bachelor's degree (preferred), or High School Diploma with equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of using measuring tools.
  • Experience in running tests and taking lab measurements on parts is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills (minimum 75% or B2 level).
  • Experience working in an ERP system.
  • A valid Driver's License.

 

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Experience working directly with external suppliers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CAPA, 8D problem-solving processes, or similar corrective action methodologies.
  • And a “Can Do” attitude.
