What is the job about?  

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will oversee all supply chain and warehouse operations, ensuring KPI conformance and improvement. You will lead and motivate your team by providing clear guidance, setting direction, and fostering a high-performance culture. You will be responsible for materials management for the plant including warehousing (local warehouse, overflow and/or 3PL), shipping and receiving at our facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Additionally, you will ensure timely and quality delivery of products to sister companies and distribution centers, in alignment with pre-established lead times and service level agreements.

 

This position reports directly to the Sr. Plant Manager and is based 100% onsite at our facility at San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

 

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in Mexico without support.

 

Your main responsibilities:  

  • Manage the areas of Warehouses, Material Planning, and Production Planning. Dotted line management of Logistics (Imports and Exports) and Purchasing team.
  • Manage and control the warehouse activities and the materials delivery, materials flow to all the different product lines, from the receipt of the materials, manage inventories to the shipping of finished goods. Ensure that the needs of the Production Departments are defined and coordinate activities and resources to support these needs effectively and timely.
  • Manage and control the activities of the Supply Chain for the different product lines, from the receipt of the Sales and Inventory Plan (SNP) through the SIOP Process, to the Master Plan Scheduling for the plant and following Materials and Production Planning.
  • Drive lead time reduction efforts based on the performance metrics and the voice of the customer. Improve the consistency of delivery performance to customers. Focusing on OTTR (On Time To Request) as Key Metric for Deliveries.
  • Control and optimize planning to avoid stockouts, low stock, and excess stock.  Ensure master data accuracy for all MRP fields and critical to order processing. Ensure the timely disposition and processing of products returned from customers. Work closely with appropriate staff to coordinate slow-moving and obsolete inventory teardown.
  • Responsible for the total inventory levels belonging to SAN LP. Reduce slow turning inventory, SMI reserve, and DOS.
  • Monitor day-to-day warehouse, planning and production tasks and initiate actions to meet specific requirements or resolve problems.
  • Establish techniques for measuring the overall effectiveness of the warehouses and supply chain department, establish goals, develop and implement plans to meet these goals.
  • Support for the implementation of the purchasing strategy according to the policies and direction of Group Purchasing and cost reduction strategies according to the objectives of the company. In addition to the acquisition, handling and safeguarding of direct and indirect materials needed for production.
  • Actively participate within the Management Team developing and implementing tactics and strategies in common agreement to achieve the objectives of the company.
  • Generate and manage the annual budget for operating expenses and / or investments, of the department(s) in charge.
  • Actively utilize performance reviews and the career development program to encourage and bring employees to fully utilize their capabilities for their good and that of Grundfos. Ensure team members are trained and have the tools required to perform their assigned duties.
  • Main responsible for Annual physical inventory.
  • Participate and collaborate in the objectives, programs and procedures of health, safety and environment, in addition to the activities that are carried out to comply with the aforementioned.
  • Do all the mentioned activities under the rules ISO14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

 

Your background 

We imagine that you have:   

  • Engineering or similar technical background. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Experience leading and/or creating processes within Supply Chain and Warehouse.
  • Experience executing strategies and strategic initiatives within a complex business environment.
  • Experience from a large manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement systems.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of blue and with collar workers preferably within Supply Chain.
  • Most likely to have 5-7 years of relevant work experience before entering level.
  • Strong ability to lead and/or influence others.
  • Focus on achieving results, effective communication, teamwork, responsible.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and relevant systems within Supply Chain.
  • Possess industry experience within a business environment.
  • Knowledge in ERP system (SAP).
  • Advance office and windows management.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing.
  • The ability to operate daily out of the San Luis Potosi, Mexico facility.
