What is the job about?
You will be part of a department composed of more than 24 Developers, Data Scientists, Data Pipeline Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other specialists located across five countries in Europe and now expanding to the Philippines. This gives you a highly international and diverse working environment with a well-established virtual collaboration culture. We also aim to enable at least one face‑to‑face meeting per year to strengthen cross‑team collaboration.
To begin with, your tasks will focus on migrating approximately 100 macros into automated workflows using Microsoft applications such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio, and potentially Power BI. Over time, you will become an integrated member of the broader automation team, delivering automation solutions across all Grundfos functions.
Your main responsibilities:
Macro Migration & Assessment
- Analyze existing Excel macros and VBA code to understand functionality, dependencies, and embedded business logic.
- Assess technical feasibility and define the most effective strategies for migrating Excel-based automations to Power Automate.
Power Automate Flow Development
- Design and build Power Automate workflows that replicate, optimize, and modernize existing macro functionality.
- Develop custom flows integrating Microsoft 365 services such as Excel Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
- Create both cloud flows and desktop flows based on business process requirements.
- Build modular, reusable child flows to support scalability, maintainability, and best‑practice automation architecture.
Integration & Data Management
- Integrate Power Automate with third‑party applications using standard connectors, APIs, and custom connectors when required.
- Configure data transformations, mappings, and validation rules within automated workflows.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct end‑to‑end testing includes unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot and resolve workflow errors, performance issues, and edge‑case scenarios.
- Ensure migrated automations deliver results consistent with original macro-outputs.
- Document test scenarios, results, and key findings. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including process maps, system diagrams, and workflow specifications.
- Support knowledge transfer to stakeholders, end users, and internal teams as needed.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
- Create technical documentation including process flows, system diagrams, and flow specifications
- Maintain centralized repositories of flow templates, documentation, and best practices
Your background:
- University or college degree in computer science, economics, or related field.
- Strong skills in Excel VBA, macros, and Visual Basic for Applications
- Proficient in developing Power Automate cloud and desktop flows Knowledge of Power Platform connectors and API integrations
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 apps (Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook)
- Exposure to Power Apps and Power BI is a plus
- Familiarity with Azure services and cloud concepts
- Ability to analyze business processes and design effective automation solutions
- Strong logical thinking and troubleshooting skills High attention to detail and quality focus
- Capable of managing multiple projects independently
- Effective collaboration with business and IT teams
- Strong documentation skills for technical specifications
- Customer‑focused mindset with ability to understand business needs
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):
- Microsoft Power Platform Certifications (Power Platform Developer Associate or App Maker)
- Knowledge of business process mapping and optimization methodologies
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
