As our new Quality Control Process Engineer, you will be developing and leading Quality Control & Quality Assurance initiatives for Peerless products and production processes, serving as the critical link between production, engineering, purchasing, and sales support to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement. What you will be doing
As a key part of the Quality Management team, you'll create impact by Driving significant reductions in Cost of Poor Quality and customer claims while improving production efficiency through robust quality systems and root cause problem solving..
Your main responsibilities include:
- Provide direct quality technical support for Assembly, Testing, Mount, and Paint areas, ensuring robust QA/QC processes are deployed and issues are mitigated proactively
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods (5 Why's, 5W2H, Cause & Effect diagrams) and facilitate daily QRQC meetings
- Develop and implement quality systems for new products and parts, including inspection plans, layout procedures, and statistical process controls
- Perform internal and external Quality System audits and contribute to Material Review Board meetings
- Collaborate with suppliers and the Supplier Development team to achieve capable products and processes, including managing vendor corrective action requests
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in production areas and maintain statistical metrics for in-process quality targets
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a detail-oriented quality professional with strong problem-solving skills, hands-on manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
We would also imagine that you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science *much preferred
- Associate's degree in Engineering or Science, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in quality control, problem solving, and detailed inspection techniques
- Strong problem-solving background including 5 Why's, 5W2H, Cause & Effect diagrams, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies
- Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T, with proficiency in measuring equipment and practical knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM)
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques (Poka-Yoke, SPC)
It is a plus if you also:
- Understanding of SAP transactions used within logistics, quality, and production processes
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and gauge validation
- Experience facilitating QRQC or similar structured quality response programs
- You'll also be available for travelling up to 13 days per year.

The salary range for this position is $72,200-$102,165 (exempt). Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Peerless Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Peerless Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Indianapolis, Indiana.
