What is the job about? 


As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for administrative and communication support to the Category Manager. This covers administrative support related to Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Strategic Sourcing (STS) processes. You will support deliver consistently high Customer satisfaction on behalf of Group Purchasing and the performance unit and assist in conducting Value Based Sourcing within the Category.

Additionally, you will help with a continuously optimization of the Operational Excellence, Innovation and Sustainability delivered from Suppliers. 

 

This position reports directly to Purchasing Manager and having a functional report to the Category Manager, this position will operate out of the San Luis Potosi, Mexico in a hybrid model.

 

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported, and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Mexico without support.

 


Your main responsibilities: 

 

STS and SRM support

  • Support Category Management in various activities such as data analysis, preparation and coordination of negotiations
  • Create E-sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, E auctions) and prepare evaluation for CM and Purchasing Specialist (including collect drawings and requirements)
  • Contract preparation including schedules 
  • Analysis of contract compliance
  • Supporting supplier classification
  • Supporting category manager on development of a Category strategy. 
  • Assist in follow-up on supplier performance such as cost, delivery, quality, lead time and sustainability performance or other specific KPI’s agreed with the supplier and suggest improvement activities in case performance targets are not met 
  • Support implementation and follow-up on improvement activities agreed with suppliers
  • Support communication and coordination between Grundfos stakeholders, the Category Manager and the suppliers and coordinate meetings with them.

 

Project support and administrative tasks

  • Ordering and follow up on samples requested by CM (tool orders)
  • Handle investment requests and reports related to investments or tools
  • Request through the AQE - Advance Supplier Quality Engineering to Initiate and follow-up on samples approval process through (VPC)
  • Ensure supplier access to Supplier Portal and access to relevant specifications such as Grundfos drawings or standards
  • Responsible for processing documentation changes (ECM) with suppliers
  • Support implementation of EDI/EcoVadis/ ARIBA or similar at suppliers
  • Support in risk analysis to CM and LP
  • A high level of cooperation with vendors and Vendor Planners to address escalations
  • Purchase Information Records (PIR) creation and maintenance in SAP as needed  
  • Participate and collaborate in the objectives, programs and procedures of health, safety and environment, in addition to the activities that are carried out to comply with the aforementioned
  • Do all the mentioned activities under the rules ISO14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018

 

Your background

 

We imagine that you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering or related field.
  • Certification in Purchasing related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of best and relevant practices, systems in administration and business support preferable from purchase. Preferably have up to 2 years’ experience in similar job role.
  • Well-organized and adaptable to change.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Focused on details
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, excel, word, ppt, mail.
  • Team player, self-motivated, work independently
  • Fluent in English.  
  • SAP experience, MM module Preferred.
