As our new Proposal Engineer, you will be delivering world-class technical and commercial sales support by preparing professional quotations, developing custom engineering solutions, and guiding customers and sales teams through product selection for pumps and modular systems. What you will be doing:

 

As a key part of the Commercial Proposals team, you'll create impact by Driving profitability and customer satisfaction by combining deep product knowledge with innovative technical solutions that solve real-world fluid handling challenges.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

 

  • Review product specifications, assess advanced pump applications, and prepare formal quotations with proper compliance documentation following delegation and authority procedures
  • Provide customers and sales team with technical assistance and product information
  • Assess advanced product applications to determine proper selection of pumps
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for proposal stages, producing estimated dimensions, weights, and electrical information for customer review
  • Collaborate with internal departments and suppliers to create custom pricing for non-standard products and prepare moderately complex quotation packages
  • Provide technical application training and guidance to customers, Key Accounts, sales teams, and fellow Proposal Engineers, including managing escalation calls
  • Conduct hand-over meetings with Project Execution teams and maintain all project documentation on shared servers to ensure seamless transitions
  • Perform product-related technical analysis and lead special projects as assigned
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment to prepare moderately complex quotation packages

What makes you a great fit:

 

Above all, you are a technically skilled engineer with strong commercial acumen, capable of bridging the gap between customer needs and product solutions while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. We would also imagine that you have:

 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience)
  • A minimum of 3+ years of sales/engineering experience, preferably with a pump and/or modular solutions manufacturer
  • Proficiency with product selection software, CRM systems, and MS Office; ability to create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings
  • Strong technical analysis skills with the ability to review detailed specifications and produce compliance documentation

 

It is a plus if you also:

 

  • Experience with custom costing and non-standard product configuration in an engineered-to-order environment
  • Familiarity with Grundfos or comparable pump product lines and their industrial/commercial applications

 

The salary range for this position is $73,100-$112,100.  Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
