Grundfos is looking for a Proposal Engineer for our Brookshire, TX facility. The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for providing world class customer service through prompt and professional pricing and technical/commercial sales support to customers, channel partners, OEMs, and sales teams for products and their applications. The Engineer will facilitate profitability and efficiency through the use of product knowledge, product selection software, and innovation to provide technical solutions to customer requests and provide guidance to colleagues. This position reports directly to the Proposal Manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of our Brookshire, TX facility.

Your main responsibilities:  

• Provide customer and sales teams with product specification and technical assistance as needed.
• Provide custom costing, review and prepare formal quotations.
• Research, design and evaluate HVAC and mechanical products, equipment systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for the proposal stage which best reflect suggested design.
• Assess advanced product applications to determine proper selection of pumps; assist with high level product troubleshooting and installation assistance and provide product training to employees.
• Advise customers including Key Account and sales teams, and provide technical application and product training,
• Collaborate with internal departments and suppliers to create price quotes for non-standard products where list price is readily not available.
• Conduct product related technical analysis for internal and external audiences.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to prepare moderately complex quotation packages, review detailed specifications including technical deviations lists as required.

Your Background:

We imagine that you have:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of sales/engineering experience, preferably with a pump and/or a modular solutions manufacturer.
• Extensive understanding of pumps and pump systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple, divergent priorities, and work independently with a high degree of accuracy to meet customer requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert technical knowledge of Commercial HVAC equipment and systems is highly preferred.
• Must possess the ability to create innovative solutions to meet unique applications.
• Strong ability to solve problems and apply sound judgement and discretion.
• Proficiency in the use of ERP systems, Microsoft Office and SAP and product sizing software.
• General familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD software.
• Strong customer service skills combined with excellent time management and organization skills.

The salary range for this position is $73,100-$112,100.  Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile.
