Project Manager/Engineer
Job Description

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for the successful delivery of Commercial Building Services (CBS) projects, coordinating all activities from sales handover through to project completion. The position ensures projects are delivered on time, in compliance with quality and safety standards, while maintaining strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

The role supports financial performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, and provides exposure to end‑to‑end project execution. It requires a proactive, solution‑oriented approach and close collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, ME Consultants, and customers to resolve issues and drive successful outcomes

Key Activities

 

  • Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with approved scope, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve routine project matters.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, customers, building owners, engineering contractors, design institutes, consultants, and relevant authorities.
  • Establish and sustain positive relationships with customers, M&E (MFG and Engineering consultants), developers, and end‑users to support smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules with suppliers and manufacturing plants to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure system calculations are verified, mechanical and electrical drawings are submitted for approval, and site coordination with subcontractors and customers is properly managed.
  • Support and coordinate pump delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning (T&C) activities in accordance with project plans.
  • Assist with progress claims, authority submissions (e.g. PUB - Public Utilities Board), and ensure Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals are completed and handed over.
  • Monitor maintenance activities during the Defects Liability Period (12, 15, or 18 months) and arrange minor corrective works where required.
  • Track project progress and escalate issues promptly to Sales Engineers or relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by capturing lessons learned and sharing feedback with the team.

Skill

Education & Certifications:

  • Diploma or Degree (Singapore) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Diploma or Degree (Malaysia) from recognized polytechnics or technical institutes in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
  • Vocational/Technical Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or pump systems are also acceptable.
  • Candidates with relevant work experience in project coordination or building services may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Experience, skills & knowledge:

  • 5 years + of experience in project coordination, technical support, or sales support within construction or building services.
  • Exposure to commercial building projects (e.g. mixed developments, data centers, office buildings) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of pump systems for plumbing, sanitary, and HVAC applications.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and perform simple system calculations.
  • Familiarity with relevant systems and local regulations in the commercial building sector

  • Sales Growth – timely and quality execution enable repeat business and upsell opportunities.
  • External Customer Satisfaction Survey Results – good delivery experience enables positive feedback scores from customers and consultants.
  • Compliance & Process Adherence – no major deviations from project standards and guidelines
  • Collaboration & Responsiveness – effective coordination and timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Additional critical operating tasks to be assigned annually during the People Development Dialogue (PDD) process in line with appropriate strategic direction
