Project Management/Engineering Intern   Indianapolis (Summer 2026, onsite)

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Project Management/Engineering Intern for its Summer 2026 Intern Program.  

 

 

The role of the Project Management/Engineering Intern is to support the team in creating process documentation for Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Project Coordinator processes and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (onsite, Monday-Friday).

 

 

Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects.  At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

 

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.  Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. 

 

 

The salary for this position is $20/hour.

What is the job about?

 

 

The Project Management/Engineering Intern will create process documentation in support of the Project Management team working on assigned projects as directed.  This role will communicate and collaborate with inside business partners while adhering to corporate policy and procedure.   

 

 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

 

 

  • With the assistance of Project Management personnel, create or revise process documentation of Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator processes
  • Assist the Project Management and Project Engineering team by assisting in creating schedule, submittal, final documentation package deliverables
  • Support continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and eliminate errors in the project management process
  • Help set up Project Management/Engineering toolbox
  • Support continuous improvement, in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profit
  • Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with Grundfos Values and our internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost)
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Complete special projects as assigned and perform other duties as required  

 

 

Key Success Factors

 

 

Process documents created, process maps/flowcharts created, PM or PM deliverables (submittals, schedules, drawings, final documentation packages).  

 

 

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

 

 

Position reports to, and will take functional direction from, the Project Manager/Engineer Lead. Serves as a member of the project management team.  Provides support and collaborates with teams across the business to drive efficiency into project management processes and document them.            

 

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

 

 

  • Working towards a B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Mgt, (or related) from an accredited university *incoming 3rd or 4th year preferred
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
  • Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

 

  • Competencies

 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detail
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Power Point®, Outlook etc.)
  • SAP, CRM, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project systems experience preferred
  • Technical aptitude with ability to learn engineering and project tools
  • Has  high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitments
