Are you energized by complex technical challenges, have a detail-oriented and structured approach? And are you motivated to make a real impact on water sustainability? At Grundfos we design intelligent water treatment solutions that help tackle global climate challenges. We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and help ensure successful project execution.
What is the job about?
We deliver tailored water treatment solutions with a strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, and long‑term water savings. As a Project Engineer, your primary responsibility is to engineer and create mechanical design of water treatment solutions —ensuring a smooth, high‑quality transition from sale to handover.
You will mainly be involved in project execution of water works solutions but can also expect to be involved in projects for the industry.
You’ll work closely with project managers and other involved stakeholders to validate solutions, clarify technical requirements, and ensure design is complete and compliant.
You’ll be based at our headquarters in Stilling near Skanderborg, where several core functions, including production, are located.
Your main responsibilities
- Design mechanical layouts for piping and machinery installations in 3D.
- Dimension water treatment plants, including filter systems, piping, pumps, and related components.
- Create P&I diagrams and component lists.
- Validate sold solutions and ensure technical accuracy.
- Plan production together with project managers and site supervisors.
- Participate in drafting functional descriptions.
- Collaborate with customers and internal experts (process engineers, automation engineers, project managers).
- Prepare technical documentation (such as operation and maintenance manuals, etc.).
- Coordinate with subcontractors and manage installation planning.
- Support project financial control in collaboration with project managers.
- Ensure quality assurance according to ISO 9001 processes.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A strong technical background— an education within Production Technology, a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, combined with relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company (machinery/process plants).
- Experience in preparing P&I diagrams, mechanical design, and layout using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good at collaboration, and skilled in engaging with customers and subcontractors.
- A strong sense of responsibility and are good at seeing things through.
- A natural curiosity and interest in learning about water treatment and new technologies.
- Detail-oriented and structured.
- Familiarity with SAP (advantage, but not a requirement).
What’s in it for you?
You can look forward to working with many dedicated colleagues within different areas of expertise in both Denmark and internationally. Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path. You’ll be welcomed from day one into an inclusive, trusting environment guided by six core values.
In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:
- Possibility of working from home a couple of days per week. We encourage you to also be at the offices, where you can engage, learn, and have fun with colleagues.
- Flexible working hours.
- Up to 3 days’ additional paid leave for volunteering of your choice.
- Pension scheme.
- Health insurance.
- Lunch arrangement.
