Sales & Customer Support
Lead Sales Engineer, WU
Job Description

Are you passionate about bringing innovative water-management solutions to the mining industry and building strategic partnerships that drive sustainable resource extraction? Then join our mission to pioneer smarter water solutions that reduce energy use and improve lives.

As our new Sales Engineer Water Utility - Mining, you'll be driving growth and market development within the mining dewatering segment across the Western United States, building strategic relationships with mining operators, engineering firms, and channel partners that establish Grundfos as the trusted partner for mine-water-management solutions. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Water Utility Sales team, you'll create impact by developing and executing strategic account plans for priority mining companies while positioning Grundfos dewatering and water-transfer solutions across the full mine lifecycle—from development through closure and remediation.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute account plans for mining accounts across Nevada, Arizona, and the broader Western US, building relationships with operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement stakeholders
  • Provide technical sales leadership for mine dewatering applications including groundwater control, open-pit dewatering, underground dewatering, site water transfer, and related mine-water solutions
  • Engage mining customers, consultants, and engineering firms early in project phases to influence equipment specifications by demonstrating reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle value
  • Coordinate activities with distributors, contractors, service providers, and internal Grundfos teams to present a unified approach and deliver the best total solution
  • Drive market adoption through direct customer engagement, technical value selling, demonstrations, proof-of-performance activities, and leveraging global mining references
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, provide pipeline updates and forecasts, monitor competitive activity, and contribute to annual market and territory growth plans

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you're a strategic, technically minded sales professional with deep experience in mining or industrial markets, a talent for building senior-level customer relationships, and the ability to translate complex application needs into compelling commercial value propositions. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, sales, marketing, or related field—or equivalent industry experience; in lieu of degree 8+ experience in mining or dewatering will be considered.
  • 5+ years of outside sales, business development, or technical sales experience in mining, dewatering, pumps, water systems, industrial equipment, or a related technical market
  • Demonstrated success developing new accounts, building senior customer relationships, and converting complex sales opportunities
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the Western US and work regularly at mine sites, distributor locations, and customer facilities
  • Must reside in Arizona or Nevada

It's a plus if you also:

  • Direct mining industry or mine-dewatering experience, particularly with large open-pit operations in copper, gold, lithium, or critical minerals
  • Working knowledge of submersible and surface pumps, motors, variable-frequency drives, controls, and water-management systems
  • Experience managing direct customer relationships alongside distributor and contractor channels, including EPCs and consulting engineers

Why you'll love working here

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering in your community.
  • Access to on-demand training and learning sessions and carefully structured programs to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.
