What is the Job all about?
As the Senior Category Manager for Professional Services & Travel, you will serve as a strategic Purchasing Business Partner for Group Functions and APAC Divisions, managing categories such as HR, Fleet, Travel, and Finance Services. Your role focuses on driving Value-Based Sourcing, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, and fostering operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability within the supplier network.
Your main responsibilities:
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Own and manage Professional Services & Travel categories in APAC, including HR, Fleet, Travel, and Finance Services.
- Collaborate with Global Category Managers to align regional strategies with global objectives.
- Develop and execute category strategies that deliver business value beyond cost savings.
- Lead sourcing activities, negotiations, and contracting using Ariba for operational efficiency.
- Leverage data and market insights to optimize supplier portfolios and drive continuous improvement.
Stakeholder & Supplier Partnering
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to influence sourcing strategies and future requirements.
- Act as a trusted Purchasing Business Partner for APAC, aligning procurement solutions with business needs while challenging existing approaches.
- Develop and implement supplier relationship management frameworks to drive collaboration and mutual success.
Your background:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably with exposure to two or more categories such as HR, Finance Services, Fleet, and Travel.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, preferably within an international matrix organization.
- Proven ability in analytical and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results through effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an advantage.
- Travel Expectations: maximum of 10%
- Willingness to travel occasionally typically a few times per year within APAC to meet suppliers and stakeholders, and once annually to Europe for the Global Indirect Purchasing Pitstop.
