Data Model Specialist - Data Operations

About the Role

Apply data model and data architecture knowledge with the purpose of documenting and operationalizing data models. Support projects which need to document the data models of IT solutions and offerings.

Key Activities:


  • Document data models in UML (Unified Modelling Language) based on interviews of domain experts
  • Interview domain experts with the scope of capturing the key data linked to the key value of the IT solutions or offerings in scope.
  • Document findings by doing data modelling and knowledge engineering – and document it in the right places
  • Document physical data models
  • Map system hierarchies
  • Map data models from different IT solutions or systems to each other
  • Update documentation in the relevant archives or systems.
  • Participate in workshops (primarily online, but also f2f if needed)
  • Contribute to “Data Design Playbook”

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:


  • Must have at least a B.Sc. Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or like
  • Must have at least two years of experience with UML (Unified Modelling Language) modelling or other relevant modelling Language in practice
  • Knowledge of information architecture or data architecture is a big plus
  • Experience with Knowledge Engineering or Semantic Web is a big plus
  • Experience with business process mapping is a big plus

  • Must have a sincere willingness to learn more about data models
  • Enthusiastic approach to problem solving
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Good communication skills
  • Good capabilities to apply structure to working tasks
  • Interest in working with a diverse team (gender, nationality, etc.)
  • Time zone flexibility – meetings in European, Asian, and US time zones will be expected
