PCB Designer
Job Description

Would you like to assist us secure best practices in developing and testing controllers across the entire Grundfos Circulator portfolio? 

 

The WU PD Controls Team takes care of Product development with detailed design, technology and product platform support. The purpose of the job is to ensure design, development, integration of hardware. You would be responsible for end to end development of the product with respect to PCB layouting.

 

What is the job about?

 

Your main tasks will be:

  • Should be capable of taking the designs to a final Prototype through the paths of Requirement, Specifications.
  • PCB layout for modern power electronics products above 1KW to 20KW, precision power supplies & Inverters in PADS software
  • Schematics Preparation in PADS software
  • Conversion of schematics to PCB layout, netlist import, library management and foot print verification.
  • Able to make Schematics as per System Engineers Guidance
  • Should be familiar on track creepage and clearance.
  • Should be familiar in IEC/UL standards related to PCB Design safety standards
  • Best optimization of placement of part on the board area
  • Manage Gerber release, board fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, penalization drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing design data packages.
  • Bill of material preparation for procurement
  • Alternate components checking and incorporate in design
  • Supporting to Material procurement team for material alternates suggestion
  • Design boards using High Density interconnect of highly complex designs using different HDI structures, Microvias - stacked and staggered, any layer vias, all layer vias, deep microvias, deep stacked micro vias etc.
  • Good knowledge of plane fills, referencing and copper balancing.
  • Deep knowledge of PCB Materials
  • Design consideration for EMI/EMC, thermal and mechanical performance enhancement.
  • Communicate and interact with system engineer and mechanical engineers
  • Technical expertise to handle project independently
  • Directly adds tangible value to the organization by bringing state-of-the-art design trends, industry best practices, modern methodologies
  • Knowledge on power electronics, active & passive components
  • Knowledge on Electronics Components assembly on PCB
  • Co- ordinate with PCB components assembly teams or vendors ( SMT & Through hole)
  • Checking of assemble PCBs as per BOM
  • Co-ordinate with mechanical team for fixing arrangement the PCBs
  • Co-ordinate with testing engineer for testing of the PCB’s
  • Knowledge in Circuit Simulations under guidance of system engineer 

 

Your Background

 

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics Engineering (ECE) / Master’s Degree in Power Electronics
  • At least 5-10 years of experience working in PCB layout designing in power electronics
  • Must have experience in PADS schematic & PCB Design software tools
  • Understanding the Power Supply & Inverter designs
  • Knowledge of heat transfer to PCB
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design considerations and design for high reliability, high temperature etc
