Senior Shipping Coordinator
Job Description

What is the job about?

The Senior Shipping Coordinator function is to ensure the best possible operation in terms of procurement, planning & management of shipping services to support suppliers, production, DC, Grundfos Sales & customers.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Daily executing of shipping
  • Collaborating with Warehouses, Freight Forwarders
  • Communicating to internal and external stakeholders (Sales, customers, plants, DCs, 3PLs, suppliers and authorities)
  • Ensuring custom and VAT compliance for import (pre-alerts, licenses )and export of goods (export declarations, certificates of origin, booking with forwarders), as well as invoicing freight to fulfil local and regional regulations
  • Supporting shipping related customer requests
  • Supporting the local Supply chain manager and plant director, with site specific freight tasks
  • Substituting any of the Shipping Coordinators in the Country
  • Being responsible for specific Transport method, mentor of the local team
  • Training new employees
  • Driving implementation of new Freight Forwarders
  • Creating Standard Operating Procedures with Freight Forwarders
  • Driving the Forwarder Surveys in the Country
  • Driving Daily Action Meetings

 

Your background

We imagine that you have:  

  • Relevant logistical background, e.g. Bachelor/Master degree, or relevant commercial experience (min. 2 years in shipping/transportation)
  • Confidence in English written and spoken
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Good internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Decision maker attitude with ability to take actions and solve problems
  • Independent working attitude
  • Team player mindset
  • Willingness for continuous improvement
  • Customer centric mindset
  • MS Office and SAP knowledge is advantage
