Sales & Customer Support
Senior Area Sales Manager, Commercial Buildings
Job Description

Are you passionate about driving innovative pumping solutions that help decarbonize commercial buildings and tackle the world's climate challenges? Then join our mission to pioneer smarter water solutions that reduce energy use and improve lives.

As our new Senior Area Sales Manager, Commercial Buildings, you'll be leading and growing the Canada sales organization for Commercial Buildings, driving revenue, profitability and market share expansion that positions Grundfos as the partner of choice for energy-efficient, sustainable building solutions.

You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Commercial Building Services Sales team, you'll create impact by leading a high-performing sales team across Canada to challenge the status quo in how pumps are applied in commercial buildings, accelerating adoption of state-of-the-art technology that addresses decarbonization and energy efficiency challenges.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Own and achieve annual sales, profitability and market share growth targets across Canada, leading strategic business planning including budgets, forecasting and P&L performance.
  • Lead and develop the Canada sales organization—providing coaching, performance management and clear direction to Sales Engineers, Aftermarket Engineers and Project Engineers.
  • Drive a paradigm shift in commercial building pump applications by championing innovative Grundfos solutions that address decarbonization and energy efficiency challenges.
  • Lead strategic account and market management activities to strengthen customer intimacy, expand share of wallet and position Grundfos for long-term profitable growth.
  • Analyze target markets, competitive dynamics and applications to identify growth opportunities and prioritize the most strategically advantageous accounts and clusters.
  • Drive CRM pipeline quality and opportunity management best practices to support regional business plans and accurate forecasting.

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you're a results-driven sales leader with expertise in applied equipment sales, strong people leadership skills, and the strategic and financial acumen to translate market opportunities into profitable growth across a national territory. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in sales and sales management roles within applied equipment, HVAC or commercial building systems.
  • A proven track record of leading regional sales teams, managing P&L performance and consistently delivering revenue and profitability targets.
  • Strong key account management experience with the ability to build and maintain relationships at operational, managerial and strategic levels.
  • Strategic business planning skills including budget development, forecasting, resource allocation and pipeline management.

It's a plus if you also have:

  • An engineering degree combined with an MBA.
  • Experience in a large global manufacturing company, ideally in pumps, water technology or building services.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, business analytics tools and Microsoft Office applications.

You'll also be available for travelling (international and domestic) up to 30 percent.

Why you'll love working here

Day to day, you can look forward to:

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering.
  • On-demand training and structured development programmes to support your growth.
