Do you enjoy working directly with customers to understand their needs and provide the right technical solutions? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.
As our new Application Specialist (Bilingual), you will be providing expert technical advice and commercial support to our Commercial Building Services customers across Canada, helping them select the right pumping solutions through quotations, product sizing, and system troubleshooting — all delivered in both English and French.
You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
You will follow a hybrid work model based in our office in Oakville, ON, or remotely from Montréal, QC, Québec City, QC or Ottawa, ON.
What you will be doing
As a key part of the application engineering team, you'll create impact by delivering exceptional technical expertise and support that strengthens Grundfos' relationships with commercial building services customers across Canada.
Your main responsibilities are to:
- Provide commercial and technical support to customers via telephone, email, live chat, and in person — covering product sizing, applications, system solutions, pricing, and installation guidance.
- Support sales teams by managing tenders and projects, including dimensions, specifications, calculations, delivery timelines, and operation/maintenance solutions.
- Coordinate and administer low-to-medium complexity project and service proposals from Bid/No Bid approval through to submission, including negotiations.
- Deliver first-contact resolution on customer inquiries and provide pumping and system troubleshooting support.
- Process special orders and coordinate with suppliers while following up on all interactions within Service Level Agreements.
- Promote Grundfos digital tools to customers and assist with technical training for front-line staff.
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a bilingual technical problem-solver with strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and experience in pumps, HVAC, or building systems — someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering expertise and exceptional service delivery. We would also imagine that you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) or equivalent work experience (3–5 years).
- Bilingual fluency in English and French (speaking, reading, and writing).
- 2+ years in a technical customer-facing role involving quotation and opportunity management within pumps, HVAC, engineered-to-order products, or building management systems.
- Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship (relocation not supported).
It is a plus if you also have:
- Fundamental product and application knowledge — ability to interpret type keys, identify pumps vs. spare parts, and understand product origins.
- Working knowledge of SAP (CRM/SD) and Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in customer service with strong organizational skills and a track record of stakeholder engagement in complex environments.
