Are you driven by technical challenges and ready to take the next step in your engineering career while contributing to a more sustainable future? At Grundfos Water Treatment, we develop intelligent water treatment systems that help address global climate issues. We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and design intelligent and sustainable water treatment solutions.
What is the job about?
We deliver tailored water treatment solutions with a strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, and long-term water savings. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming customer requirements into high-quality systems.
Once an order is handed over from our Sales team, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical and hydraulic design process. This includes preparing detailed process and mechanical designs that align with the plant’s functionality, build quality, and cost.
Your ability to tackle complex challenges with a structured and problem-solving mindset—combined with close collaboration within the team and across departments—will be essential in ensuring our solutions meet customer expectations and technical specifications.
You’ll be based at our headquarters in Stilling near Skanderborg, where several core functions, including production, are located.
Your main responsibilities
- Design of water treatment systems, including component selection and sizing of piping and valves, and steel frame design.
- Review and validate sales proposals, including hydraulic design and component sizing.
- Preparation of technical documentation: CE declarations, risk assessments, material and welding certificates, manuals, and component lists.
- Creation of drawings in Autodesk Inventor and parts lists in SAP.
- Final quality control before handover to Production.
Besides the above, you will contribute to the maintenance of our product portfolio and processing documentation.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A strong technical background. You might have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
- Industry experience is a plus, but not essential — your passion for water treatment and eagerness to learn matter the most.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and SAP is preferred.
- Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
- A structured and detail-oriented approach to your work.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive them forward.
- A natural ability to solve technical problems.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a mindset for knowledge sharing and teamwork.
What’s in it for you?
You can look forward to working with many dedicated colleagues within different areas of expertise in both Denmark and internationally. Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path. You’ll be welcomed from day one into an inclusive, trusting environment guided by six core values.
In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:
- Possibility of working from home a couple of days per week. We encourage you to also be at the offices, where you can engage, learn, and have fun with colleagues.
- Flexible working hours.
- Up to 3 days’ additional paid leave for volunteering of your choice.
- Pension scheme.
- Health insurance.
