Logistics, Supply Chain & Purchasing
Material Planner
Job Description

Are you passionate about keeping production lines running smoothly by ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

As our new Material Planner, you will be translating supply plans and incoming orders into actionable production and purchase plans, ensuring seamless material flow across our Hamamatsu operations. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Supply Chain Planning team, you'll create impact by Optimizing material availability and inventory levels to keep our manufacturing operations running efficiently and our customers satisfied..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Transfer supply plans and incoming orders into production and purchase plans, supporting execution across production and distribution centres
  • Collaborate with fellow planners to facilitate raw material purchasing activities, maintaining sufficient inventory levels and driving stock optimisation across the supply chain
  • Ensure balance between machine capacity, manning, and material availability within the operational plan for your assigned area
  • Handle exceptions affecting the production and purchase plan — including quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and delivery changes — with support from senior colleagues
  • Proactively communicate changes and updates to relevant stakeholders across the supply chain to maintain alignment and minimize disruptions

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with a foundational understanding of supply chain planning processes and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Ability to participate in and execute well-defined business processes within production or material planning
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to align with supervisors, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of planning practices, inventory management concepts, and relevant ERP or planning systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field

It is a plus if you also:

  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience in supply chain planning, procurement, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems in a planning context
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

Why you will love working here

We care! Day to day, you can look forward to:

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering in your community.
  • Access to on-demand training and learning sessions and carefully structured programmes to pursue personal and professional development opportunities.

We are inclusive! Celebrating and valuing our differences helps us see possibilities where others can't. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds.
