Manufacturing Process Engineer

As our new Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be monitoring, stabilizing, and improving manufacturing processes while actively supporting new product introductions and strategic projects from concept through startup. This position reports to our APU Manager and could operates in a On-site model from San Luis Potosi, Mexico facility.

 

Please note that relocation is not supported for this role. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without sponsorship.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Manufacturing Process Engineering team, you'll create impact by Driving process excellence and product quality that directly supports Grundfos's mission to deliver world-class water technology solutions..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, select, and optimize manufacturing methods, supporting equipment selection, purchase, and VPC execution for new equipment, products, and process changes
  • Execute PPS and A3 continuous improvement projects with cross-functional teams to enhance key performance indicators such as FTT, Scrap, and OPR
  • Define and standardize manufacturing process parameters, maintaining Work Instructions, Change of Model documentation, and other specifications
  • Select tooling in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers and plan operator/engineer training based on process requirements and Flexibility Index
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment
  • Identify, report, and follow up on hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents, ensuring proper PPE use and safe work practices

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a hands-on problem solver with a strong foundation in Lean Manufacturing, a passion for continuous improvement, and the creativity and initiative to drive process excellence in a dynamic production environment. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Industrial Engineer, Mechanic, Electrician, Electronic, Mechatronic or Related degree
  • 2 - 3 years of experience as an Engineer in the Industry
  • Advanced English
  • Interpretation of drawings and geometric tolerances
  • Mathematical and numerical skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles with experience executing continuous improvement projects (PPS, A3, or similar methodologies)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project) with strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a systemic approach to problem-solving
  • Willingness to work on the production floor with a sense of urgency and preventive mindset

It is a plus if you also:

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing machinery such as plasma, CNC, and stator winding equipment
  • Experience with SAP R3 or similar ERP systems
  • Valid passport and American visa with availability to travel
