Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Service & Aftermarket Sales Manager to join its Lubbock Service Team. 

The Service and Aftermarket Sales Manager is responsible for generating profitable Service sales, including all principal duties and responsibilities indicated below.  This position reports directly to the Service Director and will operate out of the Lubbock, TX facility. 


Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

The goal of the Senior Service Sales Manager is to make Peerless Pump a strategic partner for professional end-user accounts in their effort of improving their pump system process, and improve their environmental profile and system performance. The SSM must increase market share within professional end-user markets focusing on specific accounts and industries; management of key accounts to secure and preserve long term purchasing agreements, and report specific business, market, and industry information.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for leading and generating sales in service and aftermarket through professional end-users within the specific sales markets. This includes house service, field service, and aftermarket part sales. 
  • Responsible for technical decisions and policies regarding tear down and re-assembly procedures, material selection, mechanical selection, hydraulic selection, repaired product improvement, and review of application data received form field.
  • Participates in service calls on customers and hosts customer visits to center.  Maintains knowledge of key accounts and key customer personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries from and provides estimates to customers pertaining to chargeable service work and warranty work.  Assists the service sales personnel; estimates labor, material, method, and assures completion of orders on time and within budget.  Works directly to improve profitability and sales.
  • Participates in global, market specific, network meetings and interfaces with key product and other management personnel from sister companies. Stays abreast of the service industry trends, evolutions and applications.  Keeps Management informed of competitive conditions and makes recommendations on product changes, additions or new products with major potential.
  • Responsible for meeting sales and margin objectives of the production and service departments.
  • Responsible for forecasting of sales in areas of responsibility, for short and long term production schedule, within the center and with our suppliers.  Maintains logs as necessary.        
  • Expedites and processes all warranty issues.
  • Works directly with plant manager and procurement on inventory needs and stocking levels based on current customer demands.
  • Plans, reviews, and controls the inventory.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • Promotes Peerless Pump products and solutions and provides troubleshooting or instructions on their uses.
  • This position requires overtime on occasion and flexible working hours.
  • Frequent travel to all offices is required. Occasional Travel elsewhere.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of all hand and power tools, machine shop equipment, welding equipment, laser alignment, vibration and measuring equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of pumps, pump hydraulics, pumping systems, electrical controls, and all aspects of operation, installation, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude for sizing, and applying mechanical equipment relating to pumps, motors and controls.
  • Must possess a current driver's license.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of profitability, gross margins, budgeting, and expense balancing.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software.


Education and Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years in Service and Repair business for pumps or related equipment.
  • B. S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
