Are you a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and turning blueprints into flawless finished parts? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

As our new Machinist I, you will be performing complete setup and operations on manual lathes, mills, drills, and grinders at our Peerless Pump Service Center in Lubbock, TX — independently planning machining sequences, selecting tooling, and ensuring every part meets exacting specifications. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Peerless Pump Lubbock Service Center team, you'll create impact by Delivering precision-machined pump components that keep critical water and fluid systems running reliably for customers across the country..

Your main responsibilities include:

•    Perform complete setup and operations on manual machines including lathes, mills, drills, and grinders, calculating and setting speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut
•    Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations; interpret GD&T symbols and plan machining methods
•    Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials; determine work holding and clamping methods when standard fixtures are not available
•    Inspect finished work pieces using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to prints and specifications, adjusting machine controls as needed
•    Perform secondary operations such as deburring, drilling, tapping, and bushing installation, and maintain manual and electronic records in SAP
•    Provide training and instruction to team members and contribute to continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives

What makes you a great fit?

Above all, you are a detail-oriented machinist with strong manual machining skills, the ability to independently read blueprints and GD&T, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

We would also imagine that you have:

•    Proficiency operating manual machines (lathes, mills, drills, grinders) with ability to independently plan operations and select tooling
•    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T symbols, and apply shop math (decimals, fractions, geometry)
•    Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gages) to inspect parts for conformance
•    Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

It is a plus if you also:

•    Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office in a manufacturing environment
•    Familiarity with cranes, hoists, and hydraulic jacks for material handling
•    Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
