Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Crate Builder/Assembler to join its Lubbock Service Center Team.
This position will assemble, mount, paint, and crate pumps and parts for shipmentis. This position reports directly to the Service Center Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Lubbock Service Center Monday-Friday.
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe all safety and health policies
- Mix paints and thinners per instructions
- Paint pumps and parts using PPE
- Construct shipping skids and crates for pumps and parts.
- Work from shop orders or special instructions to assemble and/or accessory components for pumps
- Write or paint order markings as necessary
- Complete required quality checks and properly fill out required paperwork
- Use power saws, hand tools, drill press, special tooling, jigs, and fixtures required
- Notify supervisor of re-supply requirements for lumber, nails, carriage bolts, flange covers, paint, thinner, instruction booklets, etc.
- Keep storage and work area clean and orderly
- Exercise care in the use of company equipment
- Perform other duties as necessary
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Good mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Good woodwork skills
- Ability to properly read and use tape measure
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, walk, and be on your feet for an entire shift.
- Exposure to dust, noise, shop heat, and exposure to ambient heat in summer, exposure to paint and fumes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED/HSE (or HiSET);
- 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
