Grundfos North America is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer- Groundwater/Irrigation Western USA to join its WU-Ground Water Irrigation USA & Canada team.  The Senior Sales Engineer- Groundwater/Irrigation Western USA will be responsible for growing the Grundfos business by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling the activities within his/her defined geography and accounts. The Senior Sales Engineer- Groundwater/Irrigation Western USA reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and participates as an active member of their regional sales team. The territory for this position would include the states of CO, AZ, NM, UT and the Texas panhandle. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about? 

 

  • Selling: The Senior Sales Engineer  is responsible for managing sales to existing and potential direct accounts. In addition to managing sales support to distribution partners which may include participation in closing an order or to facilitate and add value to the selling process.  Grundfos employees must be the brand, live the brand, and present the brand.
  • Territory Planning: The Senior Sales Engineer must continually develop knowledge of the business climate, applications and competition for his/her defined geography and accounts.  The Senior Sales Engineer will manage, maintain, and execute a territory plan.  The Senior Sales Engineer will continually manage current distribution channels, which would include evaluating their performance, including determining if a distribution channel requires additional training or even termination of the relationship. The Senior Sales Engineer will manage conflict ensuring alignment with territory plans.  The Senior Sales Engineer will deliver training on Grundfos products, applications, and sales processes, and will provide/facilitate training and education to all levels of the sales channel. The Senior Sales Engineer will manage the selection process of new distributions channels in their area.
  •  Reporting & Time Management:  The Senior Sales Engineer will manage data relative to partners, accounts, and activities, and will document customer interactions.  The Senior Sales Engineer will prepare reporting as needed. 


What do you need to apply? 

 

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred. Business or marketing classes are a plus.  3-5 years pump experience.

  • Professional sales skills including key account strategies and plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Groundwater market segment and a general knowledge of the other Grundfos target markets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, rotating equipment including electronically controlled pump systems (VFD, controllers, etc.) used within the Groundwater market.
  • Ability to manage and deliver effective product presentations for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as a good aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.

 

    Must be able to travel up to 60% (about 120 nights). Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
    This position is a remote outside sales position which requires one to live in the West Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico market.
