Are you a versatile sales development professional who thrives on removing barriers for sales teams and driving continuous improvement across a complex industrial business? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.
As our new Senior Business Developer, Industry, you will be developing and executing high-impact improvement projects that sharpen our Industry Americas Sales organization — boosting selling efficiency, and keeping our teams focused on customers and growth. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
What you will be doing
As a key part of the Industry Americas Sales Development team, you'll create impact by driving measurable improvements in sales effectiveness, market intelligence, and customer engagement that directly accelerate revenue growth across our industrial market verticals.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Leading continuous improvement projects (40% of role) that streamline sales processes, eliminate administrative waste, and enhance team productivity across the Industry Americas division.
- Delivering sales support and enablement, stocking programs, promotions, product expertise, and profitability reporting — so outside sales teams can maximize customer face-time.
- Serving as the SAP CRM superuser and division subject matter expert on customer account processes, while advocating for and optimizing selection tools, Business Warehouse, and PowerBI reporting.
- Facilitating sales councils and interfacing directly with channel partners and end users to capture emerging market trends, competitive intelligence, and voice-of-customer insights.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Support, Product Management, Sales Excellence, Supply Chain, and Operations to align initiatives with regional strategy.
- Representing Grundfos at trade exhibitions and end-user visits, translating field insights into actionable strategies and sales action plans.
Preferably you work out of our Lenexa, KS office (hybrid schedule), however remote candidates will also be considered.
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a resourceful, cross-functional utility player with deep industrial sales knowledge, strong technical acumen, and the communication skills to influence stakeholders at every level — someone who naturally starts with the end user in mind and works backwards to build strategies, tools, and metrics that make sales teams more effective. We would also imagine that you have:
- 10+ years of industry experience in sales, business development, or sales enablement within industrial markets.
- Proficiency with SAP, CRM systems, Business Warehouse, PowerBI, and product selection tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial pump products, applications, and market verticals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to train internal teams and external customers.
It is a plus if you also have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field.
- Experience leading cross-functional process improvement or sales excellence initiatives.
- Familiarity with channel partner management and industrial distribution models.
You'll also be available for travelling up to 130 days per year.
