Regional Sales Manager- Domestic Building Services (South)

Grundfos are looking for a Southern Regional Sales Manager to drive our strong external sales team in the Domestic Building Services (DBS) business unit. 

 

We are looking for a knowledgeable, talented, and motivated sales leader to offer support, motivation and strategic direction to the team. Ideally with a strong sales background in the domestic plumbing and heating Industry. 

 

 

What is the job about?  

In this role you will be responsible for the management of the Southern regional sales area, the leadership of your employees as well as sales/turnover and cost. 

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results over an extended period, both personally and through teams.  

 

Primary responsibilities include: 

 

  • Effective leadership and management of the Area Sales Managers, offering support, motivation and strategic direction. (30% people management/coaching) 

  • Recruit and develop a competent sales team 

  • Set out minimum standards of performance relating to sales activities and customer mix in line with company policy 

  • Develop key KPI’s to monitor individual team and team member performance using agreed reporting tools and SAP CRM package  

  • Take a leading role with nominated national merchants, buying groups and key contractors  

  • Working with all target customer groups in the specific region, including key contractors, installers, social housing providers, end users, housebuilders and developers 

  • Compile regular regional market reports, with intelligence gathered from the area managers regarding sales opportunities, competitor activities and products to enable strategic decisions to be made on a factual basis  

  • Achieve high volume of sales activities and hit monthly / specific sales targets 

  • Develop and implement regional action plans in line with our business strategy 

  • Work closely with CSSC in order to develop one DBS culture and end to end sales culture 

  • Secure specification and incremental sales across the complete Grundfos product portfolio by gaining sole / fixed specification. 

  • Play a key role in the DBS Business unit, having specific commercial and technical knowledge to support the business and market needs in this sector.  

  • Have the skills to negotiate orders either direct, via a contractor base or via  local distribution channels, to support our multi-channel route to market 

  • Execution of marketing and sales strategies using specific and focussed promotional campaigns and incentives 

  • Monitor product sales, customer sales reports, regional costs and profit levels, plus other KPI’s to ensure we are on track to deliver our targets, and take  corrective actions as required in a timely manner  

  • Identification and development of new business opportunities 

 

What qualifications and experience are we looking for? 

  • Proven successful sales track record 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience  

  • Strong technical knowledge of the Domestic Building Services business and ability to support and develop regional team members 

  • Good level of IT knowledge 

  • Experience of using a CRM package- SAP CRM / BW would be advantageous 

  • Experience of using Microsoft packages- Outlook, excel, PowerPoint 

  • Sales experience within the Plumbing and Heating industry to merchants and contractors  

  • Initiate and implement successful promotions and customer entertaining / events 

  • Successful negotiating/ influencing skills 

  • Proven experience of profitably growing business turnover 

  • Previous team management experience would be advantageous 

  • Confident presenter, with the ability to construct and deliver PowerPoint presentations
