Lead UX UI Engineer
Job Description

 

As a Lead UX UI Engineer, the main purpose is to bridge the gap between design and development, ensuring the seamless integration of the Grundfos Design System (GDS) aesthetics into development libraries. The role focuses on creating reusable assets for the GDS while collaborating closely with UX UI designers and internal product teams.

 

What is the job about?

Your main responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the design team to integrate the Grundfos Design System aesthetics into development libraries while ensuring the API remains user-friendly for developers.
  • Analyze design data, create clear abstractions, and incorporate these into Spectrum implementations following patterns familiar to web developers.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams to develop, support, and validate the deployment of GDS across Grundfos applications.
  • Utilize various tools and liaise with teams to grasp design requirements and relay technical issues back to the design team.
  • Identify and implement necessary corrections to address any deficiencies in the Grundfos Design System.

 

Your background:

We imagine that you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of design system principles and their application in product development.
  • Proficient with various build, test, and release procedures including compilers, linting, CI/CD tools, software testing and validation techniques, and contemporary dev-ops strategies.
  • Background in collaborating with stakeholders to influence product roadmap decisions.
  • Expertise in crafting high-performance and intricate web UIs across various frameworks, with tools, and proficient in TypeScript.
  • In-depth knowledge and adaptable skills in CSS architecture, including pre- and post-processors, managing cross-browser issues, layouts, responsive designs, and animations (5+ years).
  • Strong background in web UI development, preferably with experience in web components standards, Lit-based components, or similar technologies (5+ years).
  • Proven ability to develop libraries, frameworks, or SDKs utilized by other developers.
  • Experienced in designing responsive elements for mobile web applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Node.js environment and npm package creation.
  • Well-versed in web accessibility standards, practices, and testing procedures.
  • Effective collaboration with designers to translate designs into functional code.
  • Pragmatic and cooperative approach, comfortable in dynamic work settings.
  • Experience with open-source development, conducting code reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to lead enhancements in library architecture, testing protocols, and external integrations.
