Lead Data Scientist
Job Description

As the Lead Data Scientist at Grundfos, your primary responsibility will be to lead the data science component of multiple projects. These projects will involve extracting valuable insights and developing AI/ML features for the company's digital products and solutions. You will have a combination of hands-on tasks and leadership responsibilities as we introduce an AI-powered portfolio to the market.

 

What is the job about?

Your daily interactions as a professional at Grundfos require effective communication skills, as you collaborate with various stakeholders such as business owners, technical experts, and employees from diverse backgrounds. It is important for you to prioritize projects correctly and provide clarity on the necessary steps for a successful digital future. One of your key responsibilities will be to ensure that projects are prepared for adaptability to new solutions, with a focus on achieving end-to-end readiness.

 

As part of the AI Solutions department within Grundfos' Digital Development, you will join a highly skilled team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers. Together, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's digital transformation agenda by actively working towards implementing advanced analytics and AI capabilities into Grundfos' digital products and solutions, actively contributing to the company's digital service portfolio evolution.

 

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to guide and mentor junior data scientists, assisting them in developing effective AI/ML solutions for different projects. These projects will address crucial areas such as monitoring and optimizing water systems, enhancing energy efficiency in pumping applications, detecting anomalies in IoT data, and creating predictive maintenance solutions for pumping systems.

 

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Working with machine learning and advancing statistical procedures in different projects for obtaining actionable insights and development of relevant AI/ML features for Grundfos digital products and solutions.
  • Guide junior and senior data scientist
  • Working with both development and deployment of data science processes integrated with our Data and AI platforms.
  • Suggesting, scoping, and formulating data-driven projects based on business's interests.
  • Active communication with relevant stakeholders and discussion about potential AI/ML based solutions for different business sectors.
  • Staying informed about recent updates and developments in Data Science field for improving the results of data science projects.
  • Leading, with the unit manager, the analytics and AI roadmap of digital products in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders in divisions

 

Your background:

We imagine that you have: 

  • Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or similar.
  • Extensive experience of using statistical and mathematical modelling based on IOT data in cloud or edge including timeseries analysis/forecasting, optimization techniques, and various supervised/unsupervised machine learning methods. It is an advantage also if you have previous experience of working with video, image, and audio data.  
  • At least five years of experience in a similar position. 
  • Proficiency in python
  • In-depth understanding of data models and data management
  • It is an advantage if you have practical experience with MLOPs (Machine Learning Operations), DevOps process/pipelines and related cloud services/technologies for deployment of ML solutions (e.g., MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure ML, Snowflake, etc.). 
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and active communication with different stakeholders from program managers, product owners, UI/UX developers, R&D researchers, testers, application experts, system architectures and sales and service colleagues.
  • Good communicational skills in English in both speech and writing.
  • Good soft skills such as excellent in presentation and visualization, quick learner in new business domain, making complex information easy to understand, communicate at different levels such as software developers, manager, business owners, and tech specialists.
