What is the job about?

Do you want to join the journey in developing AI in Grundfos forecasting. The process will be focused on experimenting, piloting, and bringing new models into operational execution. As a Senior Data scientist, you’ll be placed in the Global Forecasting team but over time not only working with implementing AI / ML forecasting models but planning models in general. You’ll be responsible for guaranteeing that we explore, pilot and implement the right advance models for optimizing our supply chain. As a data scientist, you’ll start by supporting a project to promote our statistical forecast accuracy higher across Grundfos value chains – both by introducing new models and data sources.

You will be placed in a team committed to optimizing, develop and govern Grundfos sales planning process covering both the SIOP horizon (0 – 18 month), and the strategic horizon (up to 5 years).

Your main responsibilities:

Responsible for AI model Capabilities and tools:

• Pioneer AI forecast model development in Grundfos
• Support define Grundfos’ Global Forecasting and Planning AI roadmap
• Define the standards for incorporating AI in planning
• Collaborate with the IT department regarding governess of AI models
• Collaborate with other relevant departments withing Grundfos that develops advanced models
• Collect requirements from the different areas within Global Planning teams around their requirements
• Develop and monitor model performances / benefits and identify potential further areas of developments.

Your background:

• Degree in data science, statistics, computer science, supply chain or similar.
• At least 1 year of experience in similar positions
• Experience developing models from PoC to MVP and production solution
• Some knowledge of MLOps, DevOps and related cloud services/technologies for deployment of ML solutions
• Expertise in Python (including standard libraries like pandas, numpy, scipy, TensorFlow and SQL
• Storytelling skills to help translate business problems to data science problems and bring data science solutions to the business in a clear way
• Good communicational skills in English in both speech and writing.

As a person you are have good communication skills and can translate Data Technical language to a non-data technical stakeholder. Your eye for detail is high and you are goal oriented. Your ability to communicate is shown in your collaboration methods which are holistic and kind, and you thrive in presenting your knowledge to others. You have a business understanding and can see how the solution fit in the overall picture. It is a prerequisite that your English is fluent, both in writing and in speech.
