Digital & IT
Senior Data Engineer
Job Description

Are you passionate about turning manufacturing data into a foundation for advanced analytics and AI-driven decisions at global scale? Join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy use, and improving quality of life for people.

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between our IS Insights Engine team and Data Engineers in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering — building robust data pipelines, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers to improve the quality and consistency of our data products. You’ll be part of a diverse, supportive, and inclusive culture that celebrates differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and belonging.

What you will be doing

As a key member of the IS Insights Engine team, you’ll create impact by connecting data from Grundfos manufacturing plants worldwide into a shared foundation that enables AI-driven decisions across quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Your main responsibilities include: • Design and develop data pipelines that make manufacturing data available in Snowflake from multiple source systems using Azure Data Factory, Snowpipe, and Azure Functions
• Guide Data Engineers on pipeline structure, reference architectures, data modeling, and delivery processes — ensuring alignment with IS standards
• Mentor and coach Data Engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and design discussions to raise the team’s technical capabilities
• Partner with the Product Owner, business analysts, and IS stakeholders to shape sustainable, fit-for-purpose data solutions
• Use elevated IS access to unblock the team, accelerate delivery, and uphold engineering discipline across testing, version control, and maintainable code

What makes you a great fit

You are a detail-oriented data engineering professional who combines strong technical judgment with genuine collaboration and mentoring skills, comfortable with ambiguity and taking ownership of technical decisions. We also imagine you have:

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a data-related discipline with 5+ years of professional data engineering experience
• High proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on production experience using Snowflake, Snowpipe, and Azure Data Factory
• Solid understanding of pipeline architecture, data modeling, end-to-end deployment, and Azure Functions for file-based processing
• Strong engineering discipline including testing, version control, code review, and writing maintainable code; proficient English communication

It is a plus if you also have:

• Knowledge of Agile development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (ARM)
• Awareness of IT security practices related to data handling (access management, data classification, secure pipeline design)
• Exposure to manufacturing or industrial data environments

Why you will love working here

We care! Day to day, you can look forward to: • A working environment built around your needs
• Annual bonuses, medical insurance, and a strong focus on well-being
• Hybrid working policy with organized transportation or fuel cost compensation
• Company-provided meals at the canteen, covered by Grundfos
• On-site gym access and sports activities such as football, table football, and basketball
• Discounts on employee purchases of Grundfos products
• Long-term career development with regular dialogue and continuous learning opportunities

We are inclusive! Celebrating and valuing our differences helps us see possibilities where others can’t. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds.
