As our new Category Buyer, you will be working with key base materials categories, negotiating with suppliers, and driving total cost of ownership improvements that directly support Grundfos's mission to pioneer sustainable water solutions. What you will be doing

As a key part of the Base Materials purchasing team, you'll create impact by driving supplier performance and sourcing strategies that ensure Grundfos delivers world-class pump solutions reliably and sustainably..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Support the Category Managers in execution of category strategies aligned with business objectives, market trends, and total cost of ownership targets
  • Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, contracts, quality, and delivery terms to secure optimal value
  • Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with product development, quality, supply chain, and production teams to align sourcing with product requirements and new product introductions
  • Analyze spend data, monitor market dynamics, and identify opportunities for consolidation and risk mitigation
  • Support sustainable procurement practices by evaluating suppliers on environmental and social responsibility criteria

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a commercially sharp procurement professional with strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation capabilities, and a collaborative mindset for working across functions in a global environment. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, category management, or sourcing within a global manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of delivering cost savings and supplier improvements
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and data analysis tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

It is a plus if you also:

  • Experience with direct materials sourcing in industrial or engineered-products manufacturing in a global matrix organization
  • CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent procurement certification
