Supply Chain Planner Intern   Indianapolis (onsite hybrid - day shift)

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Supply Chain Planner Intern for its Summer 2025 Intern Program.  

 

The Supply Chain Planner Intern will report to the Materials Manager, taking functional direction from the Sr. Supply Chain Analyst, and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (hybrid, minimum 3 days weekly onsite, Monday-Friday).

 

Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects.  At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

 What is the job about?

 

The Supply Chain Intern will work with the Sr. Supply Chain Analyst on assigned projects as directed.

 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

 

  • Master Data:
  • Updating master data in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and consistency

 

  • Continuous improvement in general:
  • Support the development of metrics to measure improvements in any department topic.
  • Assist in creating tools, forms, and spreadsheets for process improvements within the department. ( to support vendor develop, follow up and performance to help our buyers)
  • Support tasks related to the actions resulting from KAIZEN outcomes.
  • Support the automatization of repetitive task for data analysis ( macros or other platforms)

 

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

 

This position will work closely, and collaborate with Materials Management department, including Sr. Supply Chain Analyst, Planners/ Buyers- intern will be updating data to help support Planners/Buyers.        

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Working towards a B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Sourcing, (or related) from an accredited university *incoming 3rd or 4th year preferred
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
  • Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Escalate when needing help
  • Computer (MS Windows, Lab View, Excel)
  • Ability to structure workload and prioritize tasks

  • WM experience in SAP an advantage
  • Good at organizing and structuring (5S)
