As our new Senior Quality Technician, you will be developing and leading Quality Control & Quality Assurance initiatives for Peerless products and production processes, while championing continuous improvement efforts at our Indianapolis, IN facility.  You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.


What you will be doing


As a key part of the Quality Management team, you'll create impact by Driving significant reductions in Cost of Poor Quality and customer claims while ensuring our customers receive the highest quality Peerless products manufactured as efficiently as possible..


Your main responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct quality technical support across incoming inspection, machine shop, assembly, testing, mount, and paint areas, ensuring robust QA/QC processes are deployed
  • Operate Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) and hand gauges to determine part compliance; establish root cause investigations when production issues arise
  • Develop and implement quality systems for new products and parts, including inspection plans, layout procedures, and contributions to Material Review Board meetings
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on material disposition, process vendor corrective action requests, and supplier quality improvements
  • Drive and manage continuous improvement efforts in production areas while maintaining statistical metrics for incoming inspection and in-process quality targets
  • Mentor quality associates on measurement and inspection techniques, promoting teamwork aligned with safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards

What makes you a great fit


Above all, you are a detail-oriented quality professional with strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T, hands-on CMM experience, and a collaborative mindset for driving quality excellence in manufacturing.

 

We would also imagine that you have:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED/HSE *required
  • Associate's degree in Engineering/Science (or 10 years of relevant Quality Control and detailed Measurement/Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of degree)
  • Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T, with proficiency in measuring equipment and practical knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM)
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Poka-Yoke, Lean, and SPC, along with strong understanding of machining techniques and gauge validation
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of SAP transactions within logistics, quality, and production processes


It is a plus if you also:

  • Operating experience using CALYPSO software on Zeiss Contura CMM (strongly preferred)
  • Veterans with related MOS experience are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience working directly with suppliers to achieve capable products and processes
    You'll also be available for travelling up to 13 days per year.

The salary range for this position is $63,100-$86,565 (hourly, non-exempt). Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Peerless Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc.  Peerless Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Indianapolis, Indiana.
