As our new Quality Control Process Engineer, you will be developing and leading Quality Control & Quality Assurance initiatives for Peerless products and production processes, championing continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles to ensure the highest product quality and most efficient operations. What you will be doing
As a key part of the Peerless Quality Engineering team, you'll create impact by Driving quality and continuous improvement across production areas, ensuring every Peerless pump that reaches our customers meets the highest standards of excellence.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Provide direct quality technical support for Assembly, Testing, Mount, and Paint areas, ensuring robust QA/QC processes are deployed and maintained
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods (5 Whys, 5W2H, Cause & Effect diagrams) and facilitate daily QRQC meetings
- Facilitate and participate in Kaizen events with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in production areas
- Develop and implement quality systems for new products and parts, including inspection plans, layout procedures, and statistical process metrics
- Collaborate with suppliers and the Supplier Development team to achieve capable products and processes, managing corrective action requests
- Contribute to Material Review Board meetings and quality planning, establishing and maintaining procedures for quality-related tasks and processes
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a detail-oriented quality professional with strong problem-solving expertise, hands-on lean manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional improvement initiatives in a production environment. We would also imagine that you have:
- Associate's degree in Engineering or Science, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in quality control, problem solving, and detailed inspection techniques
- Strong problem-solving background with proven use of 5 Whys, 5W2H, Cause & Effect diagrams, and Root Cause Analysis
- Practitioner-level experience in Lean manufacturing principles, including leading Kaizen activities
- Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T, with proficiency in measuring equipment
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule based out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).
It is a plus if you also:
- Practical knowledge of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM)
- Understanding of SAP transactions used within logistics, quality, and production processes
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Poka-Yoke, SPC, and gauge validation

The salary range for this position is $84,000 to $120,000. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s & Peerless Pump Company total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Certain roles are eligible to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization.
