Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based division of Grundfos, is seeking a Precision Material Refinisher to join its Indianapolis Vertical Machining team.
The Precision Material Refinisher occupation is filing and deburring the raw material, work in process, and finish material to attain a desired finish. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility.
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?
- Deburr material, file, polish, or buff, to achieve desired finish, dimension, or contour.
- Install bronze or and rubber bushings in parts; Setup and operate parts washers; Mixing of hardening compound to fix voids in parts
- Move any and all materials to a place in designated location or storage rack
- Read and interpret work instructions, prints, specification sheets, operation manuals, and sheets, charts, tables, an etc.
- Maintain workplace in a clean and orderly manner
- Performs manual and electronic record keeping and information retrieval functions
- Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).
What do you need to apply?
- Qualified candidates will possess a High School diploma or GED/HSE or HiSET (preferred, not required)
- Additionally, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar work environment.
- Excellent written and communication skills including professionalism and strong attention to detail.
- Able to use manual, power driven, vibratory hand tools and/or equipment (polishing, arbor press, hydraulic press) for the duration of a shift which is no less than 8 hours per day.
- Able to read and interpret instructions, prints, specification sheets, operation manuals and sheets, charts, tables, etc; Able to use precision measuring instruments, gages and meters.
- Able to be certified and/or trained in the usage of Forklifts, Cranes, Hazardous Materials and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; Ability to bend, squat, sit, walk, and stand.
- Proficient using Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Lotus Notes, ERP System (SAP preferred), Intranet/Internet Navigation
- Awareness of Quality (ISO) and Safety business initiatives
