Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Precision Material Refinisher to join its 1st shift Vertical Machining team in Indianapolis.

As our new Precision Material Refinisher - 1st Shift, you will be performing precision filing, deburring, and finishing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished components to meet exacting quality standards in our manufacturing facility. What you will be doing
As a key part of the Vertical Production team, you'll create impact by Ensuring every component meets the highest quality standards so Peerless can deliver reliable pump solutions to customers worldwide.
Your main responsibilities include:
- File, deburr, and refinish raw materials, work-in-process, and finished parts to achieve desired surface specifications
- Install bronze and rubber bushings, set up and operate parts washers, and mix hardening compounds to repair voids in parts
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, specification sheets, and operation manuals to ensure accurate production
- Perform manual and electronic record keeping using SAP and other systems to track production progress
- Move and organize materials to designated locations and storage racks while maintaining a clean, orderly workspace
- Promote teamwork and uphold company standards for safety, quality, and continuous improvement
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a detail-oriented manufacturing professional with hands-on experience using precision hand tools and measuring instruments, strong safety awareness, and the ability to consistently deliver quality work on schedule.
We would also imagine that you have:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing or material finishing environment
- Ability to use manual and power-driven hand tools (polishing equipment, arbor press, hydraulic press) for full 8+ hour shifts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, and use precision measuring instruments and gauges
It is a plus if you also:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Certification or training in forklift, crane, or hazardous materials handling
- Awareness of ISO quality standards and workplace safety initiatives

The salary range for this position is $41,800-$55,385 (paid hourly, non-exempt). Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Peerless Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Peerless Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Indianapolis, Indiana.
